i have a 1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 7000 series (Dell) gpu and im gonna switch soon to NVIDIA and im wondering: is there an alternative to ddu in the terminal

im still on windows but im planing to switch before i get my gpu, so should i wait to switch my os or no

You can just keep the amd driver dormant and it shouldn't cause any problems, if you still want to uninstall it you should just use your distribution's package manager. With that said I'm guessing this is a pretty low end gpu from what little detail you gave, plus the 7000 series is very old, so you should probably just run the default open source driver that comes with the kernel until your new card comes.
