Games that require no installation/installing a game solely on an external SSD?

Real_Smoky

Hello everybody!

So, I occasionally buy/sell cheap gaming machines and I would like to have a few games on an external SSD to test when the people come to pick up their PC from me. Usually, I just run Superposition, but I have read online that some people manage to run benchmarks fine but games crash, and also not everyone quite understands what a benchmark is.

Is there a way to:
1) Find games that are purely exe files, no installation necessary?

2) To completely install a game on an external SSD, without stuff being created on C drives?

Am I overthinking this or missing something?

Also, I am also open to the idea of what Linus calls privateering.

Thanks!

The term you are googling for is 'portable'  that's usually the term put to applications that'll just 'run' from any drive without the need for the directory tree/registry entrees  that 'installing' a game does

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!
