HP probook 4540s

intel centrino advanced 6235

operating system currently is windows 8.1 OS that came with it was windows 7 HP 64bit

I got this laptop for school and after I connected to the internet for the very first time it all failed. Nothing worked(internet wise), at first I thoght it was hardware problems but that was ruled out supposedly by the school.  I then tried it on my phones network and it worked only to fail after the first connect. Lan worked but I can't use lan as my desk is to far away from the router. I need this computer to work so I thought maybe it was the junk of what the school installed on so I reformatted and installed Windows 8.1. Now not only can I not connect to the internet but it wont even try basically. It finds the network and after trying to connect it says it can't almost right away.

I don't know what to do. Please help

IF you reinstalled windows it won't have any drivers for your network card. Do you have the disk that has those? IF not you should go online on another machine and grab these http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdHome?sp4ts.oid=5229457&ac.admitted=1398685687606.876444892.492883150

That should contain all required drivers to restore connectivity.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

So I ran an intel wireless test on it that came with there drivers after installing the drivers you gave me. I encountered an error on association test. I can only imagine that one of the 2 things on the bottem of the troubleshooting is to blame for this. It says "Verify that your wireless network is not included in the Exclude (profiles) List."

OR

"Verify that the MAC address has not been excluded in the access point."

How would I go about checking for these things as im not to high tech for these network things. if it were hardware then thats another thing but this, just not it.

I tried to talk to them but they blame me as it worked when they had it go through many tests. So they say its my network but I don't believe it so, however taking things in my own hands may have been a problem since I reformatted it and it still doesnt work. So once again they will likely blame me.....

Well the drivers on that site dont have any for the intel adapter for 8.1 only in windows 7. So I wiped away my beloved windows 8.1 for windows 7. Then I installed the drivers from there and it still didn't work. Funny thing is that when i first got it(at the very beginning). it connected to my network and it was good. After sleep mode it failed, after my brother fixed it my computer got a conficting IP address message and had no internet. Then after that I tried my rogers hotspot from my android phone and it connected but after the first connection it failed on its second and third. After all that I reformatted it thinking it was something on the computer if it wasnt a hardware issue.
