"Realtek 7.1 Surround Sound High
Definition Audio CODEC"

any reason why you're going with this specific board/ what cpu are you pairing it with? There should be better matx options that are cheaper since the apparent going price is 190 usd

Here in the US, this is the cheapest Z690 board that isin't mITX or just ridiculous (unsuitable for overclocking, etc). It is also currently going for 150 on Newegg. It also features mounting holes for LGA1200/155x CPUs, making it far easier to mount my old cooler.

I'm not sure where your seeing 150 from, but on Newegg it's 170 dollars

which is treading extremely close to objectively better boards like the z690 Gaming x for 180 and the asrock z690 extreme which is probably one of  the best sub 200 dollar board for oc, though you never answered what cpu you plan to pair with it. Most cooler manufacturers by now will mail you a adapter bracket for lga 1700 if you have proof of purchase of a 12th gen cpu, and even if not, they're usually 5-10 usd

That doesn't tell you anything though. It would be a bit like saying 'onboard wifi' without saying if it is Wifi 5 or wifi 6.

They usually list the Codec i.e ALC897 or ALC1220 etc. Maybe they didn't have the spec at the time of listing the board.

Mm, that was the only thing I found mentioning audio so I assumed that was it. After a bit of looking it appears to just be unspecified
