So for context my computer is dated... But it should work still.. I went in a 3 week vacation and before doing so I unplugged my computer entirely from the wall and flipped the psu switch just because..

I returned home yesterday night, plugged my computer back in and flipped switch and it won't power on now. I've tried removing gpu, ram, everything from the mobo I possibly could, still no luck. Went and bought a 750w psu thinking mine had died, still no luck, no fans power on, no actual lights to speak of light up. The nzxt logo in my krakens water pump flashes but that's the only power that gets sent through my system.

What would you diagnose this as, dead mobo? Dead cpu?

Run down of my computer

Mobo - asrock x79 xtreme6

Cpu - i7 3930k

Gpu - Nvidia 960 (times have been tough..)

Ram - just corsair ddr3 x8 4 gig sticks

Psu old is a 850w bronze, new 750w gold

Idk what else to think but it being a dead mobo... I also don't know what would have caused it to die..

I live alone and no one was in my apt while I was gone.

Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.. I want to buy a refurbished mobo but want thoughts first.

There is no water damage to speak of, entire apartment is dry and everything was plugged back in accordingly. I took my pc to geeksquad.. Just because and still same issue there.

All cables were plugged in when I left and returned, all I did was flip the switch on my psu and unplug the entire surge protector from the wall and when I returned I simply undid what I did when I left and now it doesn't turn over..

I would believe it to be a mobo issue due to the nzxt logo not staying illuminated because even in its off state as long as it's plugged into the wall the nzxt logo stays illuminated so I think the mobo isn't delivering power as it should be anymore.

Would this be correct to assume?

I am not familiar with this motherboard, or your case, but does it have an on button built into it?

Yes it has a button built in, I've tried removing the power switch from my mobo and jumping it with a screw driver and that doesn't do anything for me as well

Misunderstanding.

Just to verify, you tried power cycling the MB with the button built into the MB.

Update

I did a complete teardown to look at my mobo, looks like a capacitor shorted for my mosfets, mobo is / was clean aside a few dust bunnies in my north and south Bridge heatsinks

Slight burn mark from said capacitor created possible 2 lines to cross and short so it definitely came out being a mobo issue and because of how dated my system is I'm upgrading atleast my mobo and ram for now..

New mobo, ryzen 5 5600x, not sure on which mobo I'm getting as my brother is sending me one he had laying around that hadn't ever been opened..

Sad day all around but the computer served me well for almost 10 years
