I just want some input on what I could change to either save a few dollars, or to make the build more efficient. I'm building a brand new PC so that I can give my current build to a family member. Definitely an upgrade from the current setup I have.

I don't know if the 12900k has enough gains to support its cost over the 12700k. I've seen the 12700k going for $300-$325 on Amazon and it doesn't seem worth it to me. It also seems unbalanced based on the other items in your list...

Your NVME storage is small. I would upgrade to a 2 TB and get rid of the spinning drive if you don't need it. Maybe replace it with a large SSD or just add a second NVME drive. Looks like you still have some room in your budget. I think the 970 evo plus is pice gen3. Not sure if that matters to you but I bought a gen4 drive and I've been impressed.

Ditch the second set of memory. Do you really need more than 32 GB?

I don't know much about the Lian Li fans, but you're deep into Noctua territory for pricing. Definitely do your research and buy the quieter fans, and replace the Corsair fans as well on your cooler. You will be surprised at how quietly your system operates.

Get a bending correcting frame from thermalright or thermal grizzly for your Alder Lake. It. Is. A. Must. I have data to back it up! And at $15 to $20... it's a no brainer.

Otherwise your setup seems just fine. You don't have to make any changes and I think you'll be happy with it.

If you are not in a hurry it might be a good idea to see how the new AMD chips fair against intel they release this month I think.

I am with @dbeckwith0211

Wait for the new AMD processor until LTT gives a review on it.

Don't rush
