It's fine, you'd just need to change the PCIE speed to gen 3 in BIOS.

I use that vertical mount with an RX 6800 XT, no performance difference.

 

1 thing to note tho, If you have a big or massive air cooler, make sure you have the clearance.

Because that mount positions the GPU slightly higher than it needs to be.

Does the CoolerMaster Universal GPU mount will work on RTX 3060 w/ PCIE 4.0 even if the riser only supports PCIE 3.0?
