question and help

Budget (including currency): 1500 GBP

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming and light video recording

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): what does it mean by adapter needed? i have checked the ports on the mobo and theres enough for the front panel i/o? and can you guys help minimise my budget (try to focus on motherboard, case and cpu cooler) to get it under 1500? i dont really want to degrade my cpu, gpu, ram or nvme ssd but if i have to i will if theres no other way

The adapter is a non-issue.  You'll just not be able to use the type-c port on the case's front panel.  if you want to use it you'll need to buy an adapter.

This will game identically to the parts list you posted.  Dropping from an 8-core to 6-core will not affect anything and saves you 100 pounds.  Going to 16GB of RAM saves you another 45, and still won't effect anything for gaming.  35 off of the motherboard.

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.

If you want to keep the 8 core cpu. The 5600/X as mentioned is pretty much going to give the same performance for gaming, maybe apart from the odd 'cpu' intensive game.

Dropped one of the Arctic fans, as 3 in total should be fine.

The price on that RTX 3080 looks a bit sketchy as it is £155 cheaper than Overclockers. The seller also only has 1 feedback rating.

The B550-A is a much better board for £3 more.
