Hi i'm new to this and thinking about upgrading my pc to amd r5 5600 from an intel i5 4690k. i'm wondering if the price will drop after the 7000 series comes out? (does it usually happen?)

i'm able to get a brand new amd r5 5600 + b450m-h motherboard for 240 cad after tax right now

from my research i think that's a really fair price. 

will there be a better price after 7000 series comes out?

Why do you want to upgrade?  Is your machine not performing how you want?  What's the rest of your system?  Isn't the 4690k using DDR3 RAM? You'll need DDR4 with the AMD 5600.

It's an ok upgrade but you need to buy DDR4 RAM too

Maybe look at 4790K's for cheap and OC the snot out of it?

Historically AMD has good price drops after new releases. The 5000 series was a different story due to the general supply shortages around the time of launch, but otherwise we've seen nice discounts on last gen.

For valorant and apex that wouldn’t really do anything.  A quad is fine.  I wouldn’t be spending money on DDR3 chips at this point, I’d just ride it out till it doesn’t work anymore.

Thank you all for the replies. As for the ram. I happen to have 2 sticks of ddr4 16gb(32 total) rams from my friend for 20 bucks, so there is that. 
as to why the upgrade? i've been watching a lot of ltt video recently and thought about maybe turning my current set up into a cloud storage device so my family can use it and prob leave it somewhere in the basement without anything attach to it (still in the process of researching)
So i guess it's not really an upgrade and more like having a new computer but with all the same stuff except new cpu,mb and ram.  Also windows 11 looks nice.
