Xbox D-pad

I bought a 360 controller to emulate games and play on my PC, but the D-pad sucks. I'm looking for a better solution than modding my controller with a transforming D-pad, since I heard that is still awful. The only other solution I've currently found was a 360 face plate cover that, in my picture, that cost $45. Is there a better option?

Is it specific to that controller or is it that you don't like the x360 dpad?

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory
