they each have their advantages. The 5950X has more cores, and is more useful for applications like 3D rendering. The 12900KS has faster single core performance, and is better for things such as gaming.

Pure speed wise at this moment Intel.
(full)core wise and power-use wise AMD (better performance per Watt)

 

So when you don' t need the cores and only want the pure speed while using more power get Intel.

 

Personally I would wait for the AMD 7000 series.
