upgrade path

what do you think of my upgrade path, currently i5 10400f and gtx 1070 with 16gb of drr4 which can run up too 3200mhz currently 2666mhz. My idea is not to get a i7 12700 and then hold the 1070 and 16gb of ram until the 4000 series comes out some day and hopefully either get a top tier 3000 series card or a 4000 series.

thank you, im hoping to get the cpu/ system up and running during the start of September and for the gpu probably start of next year, im doing 1440p gaming right now and for me currently the 1070 is great for my use
