Will resident evil 7 work on Windows 7?

I got all the minimum requirements but when I launched it, nothing happens

Steam page for this game states it needs at least W10 64bit to run - and looking at posts around the web, getting it to run on W7 64bit seems to be a bit of a hit-or-miss kinda deal. I'd recommend upgrading to W10, you're leaving yourself quite exposed with a W7 connected to the internet anyway. You can get keys for next to nothing these days, and if your system is good enough to run RE7, it's good enough to run W10.

So, is it possible to upgrade to windows 10 without having to Reformat my HDD?

Pretty sure you can even still do the free in-place upgrade Microsoft said would be limited. So that'd mean you wouldn't even need a W10 key, it would just upgrade your current valid W7 key (as long as it's legal).

  1. Download the Windows Media Creation tool from the Microsoft website.
  2. Launch the tool and select the Upgrade this PC now option.
  3. Following the on-screen instructions to upgrade your operating system.
  4. Before long, you will have Windows 10 installed.
  5. Check the activation status of your system by opening Settings, heading to Update & Security and then looking in the Activation section. You should see that Windows 10 is activated but if not, you can click the Activate button to complete the process.
