Help to find cpu

Looking for a cpu that would be a good match with the rtx 3080 12gb. Going to be playing the latest triple A games in 1440p 144hz together with Discord and Spotify etc. Doing a lot of programming using Unity and occasionally some video editing in Davinci Resolve. My budget for a cpu at the moment is about 400 USD, if a more pricey cpu would be required, I will save up instead of cheaping out now. 

 

Using one 1440p 144hz monitor as my main and two 1080p as secondary’s , one 60hz and the other 144hz.
 

Would the Ryzen 5 5600X be good enough, or should I invest in a more powerful cpu? Have seen a lot of mixed reviews online.

For gaming A 12400f Is pretty much all that you need, but depending on how much you video edit and use davinci resolve, a 12600kf might be better for you

Do you already have a mobo?

$400 should be more than enough to get you a 12700K or a 5800X3D, either would be great choices.

The 12700K is a great all rounder CPU, but you'll need a pretty beefy cooler - your hyper 212 won't cut it here.

The 5800X3D is the best gaming CPU right now and still has 8 Zen 3 cores, you will also need a decent cooler for this.
