Displayport not detecting

Hello everyone, I have an MSI GTX 1660 that has 3 display ports on it and an HDMI port. The monitor I'm running is a Dell U2515H, and it has a display port as well. So, I'm confused as to how either is not detecting a brand new display port cable. It is also worth noting that this is my first time using a display port. Please, any help is greatly appreciated.
