Recently I bought an adapter from USB-C to DVI-I (Dual Link) since my laptop has only USB-C hub to connect displays. I am using BenQ XL2411 Monitor, but the thing is that it supports 1080p, 144hz only via DVI-D Dual Link. I have a cable DVI-D (Dual Link) on both ends and it connects perfectly into the adapter and monitor, but whenever I try to set the hertz up above 60 it says: "Incorrect cable. Please use the DVI dual-link cable, that came with your monitor."
I do understand what is says, but unfortunately I don't have the original cable anymore, but I wonder, is there something special in their cables or I just can buy another cable and it will work? But why mine doesn't, if it's DVI-D Dual Link on both ends and that's exactly what my monitor asks for.

Notice: it supports up to 120hz, screen is showing the picture, but once in a while it goes black for a second, but the "error tab" in bottom right just makes me sick, it's not disappeaing.

Using this image to say which cable I need/have.

My brother used to have one of these monitors, before he switched to a part of 1440p 144Hz DELL monitors.

No special cable, you MUST need DVI-D to get 144Hz.

Your USB-C adapter, with DVI-I is a problem.

You need an adapter that supports DVI-D, 1080p 144Hz.

There are a bunch of USB-C to DVI-D adapters, BUT if you check the specs, they are limited to 60Hz only.

THIS was one of the recommended USB-C to Dual Like DVI-D adapters....it's $100.
