Thank you for your question. That is absolutely not true. Windows 7 works very well with a SSHD. What you are probably hearing about is about the default settings in Windows 7. It is true, out of the box, Windows 7 is set up to perform best with a standard traditional hard drive. Windows 7 will actually index and search for files on a SSD flash drive and as you know the amount of writes and re-writes are limited on these types of drives. Disable Defragmenting and Disable Pagefile.

 

How would i go about disabling the defragmenting and pagefile.

I don't think Windows 7 defrags drives automatically anyway, and about the pagefile, Linus has a video on this:

 

 

EDIT: To make sure Windows doesn't defrag your SSHD automatically, Search for Disk Defragmenter in the start menu and open it. Then click the button that says either 'Configure Schedule' or 'Turn on Schedule' and make sure that the 'Run on a Schedule' box in that window is unchecked

my defrag was on and i watched a vid on what it actually was and it seems important to have it run.
