Help me Decide

Go to solution Solved by MrYuriy,

The Corsair SP series is, in itself, pretty damn quiet. If you own the SP120 Quiet Editions especially, AND are going to run them @ 7v.. I doubt you'll even know they're running.

These are some of my favorite fans. I have 7 of them in my case right now. My case is not a quiet one, and is extremely open (NZXT Phantom 820) and I don't hear any of them.. None are undervolted either. And some of them are the Performance Edition, and even AF120 Performance Editions. My SP120s are about as loud as a rock.

So, with that said.. I say hell yeah man, go for it. Let me know the results!

I have a bunch of Corsair SP fans laying around that would look amazing in my build. I'm thinking I could use them at a very low RPM (7v) with reducers where they are visible so there could be 2-3 of them, I'll leave the GTs in the front.

How much of a noise difference do you think there would be?

It would be 3 Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition running at 7V or 3 Scythe GT running at 7V

Thanks.

I think I will do it! I had 8 of them at 12V in another PC and it was actually pretty quiet. I'll tell you the results!

If they are in a visible spot I would say go ahead and replace the GT's since the noise would be a negligible difference most likely since they are both at 7v

I just replaced my top and back fans... omg they look amazing. Totally worth it even if they are a little louder.

Thanks for the answers :D

I'll post pictures in my build log if you want to see.

Yeah, the Style-to-Performance ratio on Corsair's fans is epic.
