It's a KVM switch

Just got one off the dumpster at my work. What does this thing even do? can it be useful to me? how can i use this at home with a bunch of spare computers laying around?

That pic is so small and bad quality it's hard to tell...

 

From what I can gather. It looks like a multi display output module. You can use them to connect a set of input devices (mouse, keyboard and display) and connect several machines to it. It's a quick and efficient way of connecting several devices to a display and interact with them on the fly.

As people have said, it's a KVM switch. You can use multiple computers with one keyboard/mouse/monitor.
