Hi,

So I’m trying to salvage an old server

It’s running an ASRock IMB151D and when powered on the cpu fan spins up for 30 seconds it has a short beep then powers down only to power up and that all happens again.
A quick search seemed to suggest it is DRAM refresh failure so I’ve swapped out the ram sticks twice with known working sticks. After swaps I’ve disconnect the CMOS battery and power cable and held the power button.
Kinda stumped as to what to try next. I assume the board is no bueno?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What are the other specs of the system?

To the best of my knowledge it has an Intel J1900, DDR 3 laptop memory, various sticks,

and a 500gb hdd. This is a link to the board and CPU which has a better breakdown they seem to come as a barebones although not aimed at consumers? Or just not available anymore

Have you gone one stick at a time in A1? Which sticks have you tried, if it's OEM memory it may just refuse to boot because it's not the system it was expecting.

Its only had one stick in at any one time, not sure which of the two slots is A1 but I’ve tried it in both.

The other RAMs I’ve tried are ones from 2 old Dell laptops, one was a samsung m471b5273ebo-cko, and one was cn-0v1rx3-70166-223-04mv which I think is made by Dell.
