Entry level Note(or chrome)book help

Hello dear tech people

 

I'll (hopefully) start working in a lab very soon, and I'd need a portable machine on wich I can edit not enormous amounts of excell data, run basic python scripts, and browse cat photos.
The thing is that I couldn't find any linux portable machine in physical shops, so I think I have to go the Amazone route.

My budget is under 300 €
Any suggestions?

Also, are chromebooks any good?

 

As an addendum, I have a Pc at home on wich I do the heavier shit, and accsess to a computing node for the really heavy things.
