I think i messed up
Apparently there are a few revisions of this board, and I'm sure you have no way to know which exact one, save verifying with manufacturer with the serial number. But it appears at the bare minimum, if you're lucky, you'll need a BIOS update to use the 3600. The good news here is that you should be able to update the BIOS by reinstalling your old processor to do the update, then swap the 3600 back in. This is usually done by downloading BIOS update from manufacturer's website to a USB, then uploading from USB in BIOS.
So, in a nutshell, you need to power down, put your old processor back in (install your cooler with thermal paste, as this will take awhile), download the appropriate BIOS update from Gigabyte's website, put it on a USB, then restart. On restart, enter BIOS (usually pressing F2 or DEL at BIOS info screen before startup), and from there you should be able to find an option to update the BIOS via USB.
If you're VERY unlucky, you'll need a newer board, and I would recommend a B550 chipset with good VRM cooling, so you can upgrade again in a few years without buying another new board. I used the Asus B550 TUF Gaming PLUS for my 5900X.
