its a beefy system

i wouldve gone with a better cooler (NH-D15)

you dont need a 1000 watt power supply (an 850 watt quality power supply is good enough)

also a case with a mesh front is needed for a 12900k and a 3080 to manage the heat

Do you think the Corsair 5000D airflow would work as that is what I have currently for a case

it should work

but if your about to buy such a powerful Battlestation

just buy an O11 dynamic evo with 2 pack of fan and let it cool and glow😀

Spending more than necessary. The STRIX Z690-E is a very good motherboard and doesn't cost as much as the cpu.

Consider a 360 AIO. Better cooling means better performance with Alder Lake.

A few other suggestions. Mostly, use ca.pcpartpicker.com and multiple merchants.

If you're gonna be spending a ton of money on a system (this is well past the point of diminishing return, you can get 95% of the performance for 60% of the price), I'd get a different motherboard. DDR5 is hard to deal with as it is, and the 4 DIMM motherboards make it even harder to deal with, 6000MHz being towards the upper limit of what you can hit easily (assuming a good memory controller). A 2 DIMM board like the Unify X or the Aorus Tachyon is the same price but has much better memory support, with 6600MHz being relatively easy to hit with a good kit and an average memory controller.

Get a 360mm AIO, if you're maxing out the 12900K it will be overwhelmed very easily. If you're not maxing out the 12900K, you might as well save your money and get a 12700K instead since the performance will be basically identical.

Also make sure you undervolt that CPU and optimise memory timings. Even on a 360mm rad, stock bios settings push 12th gen chips in 100C territory when running the likes of CB23, OCCT ect.

Happy to help you with that via DM if you prefer down the line.

Rubbish board, its a joke for 750$, if you wanna play with ddr5 then get a 2dimm like @RONOTHAN## said, far better ram oc capability cause 2dimm and alderlake hates 4dimm anyways

Horrifically overpriced aio, liquid freezer 360 will obliterate it for cheaper

Get a 5000d airflow instead, if you are gonna waste money well past diminishing returns atleast make sure the damn components are being cooled

Get a 1200w thats lower than 250$, 300$ for a pathetic 1000w is highway robbery

3090 is preffered if you are gonna overkill the crap out of your pc

I do suggest ddr4 instead since you get literally the same or better performance out of a heavily oced 32gb ballistix kit (4600+ cl17/18), but if you can get your ddr5 to atleast 7000 then it would perform better than said ballistix, terrible price/performance tho
