I am building a new computer and as far as I can see everything turns on. Case fans spin and light up, GPU fans spin, the CPU fan spins. Ram lights up. I’ve reseated the CPU, mobo and GPU cables several times. GPU isn’t the problem because it actually displays on my old computer. I used ram from my old computer and it doesn’t display either. I’m guessing it’s either a CPU or Mobo problem. As of right now, i’m clearing the CMOS

Some motherboards need BIOS update for Zen3 (5000-series) Ryzen, that's one potential issue. But Ryzens are funny about RAM, they seem to do best with Crucial Ballistix, but make sure the RAM is the correct speed for the processor and board.

I don't badmouth others' input, I'd appreciate others not badmouthing mine. *** More below ***

I have a B550 Aorus Elite V2 (rev 1.0) the site did say it supported the 5000 series, but I’ll do the bios update anyways

thank you so much. I had thought Ryzen Ready meant it was already updated to work out of the box with the latest. I finally booted up!

Good deal. 👍

5000-ready is a fairly loose term. What they mean is that the BIOS is capable, whether via update or out of the box. I was lucky on my Asus TUF B550-PLUS, it was truly ready out of the box. I have heard of a few that needed BIOS updates though. This is why it pays to get a board that supports USB flashing, or at least to keep your old processor, as it may be the only way to update it otherwise.

I might also add that when you buy a board, you really don't know how long it's been sitting on the shelf. So even though a manufacturer may claim that its newest production is 5000 ready, what you buy off the shelf might be several months old and not from that batch that is said to be 5000 series ready.
