I have tried reseating, applying new thermal paste, checked if it was making proper contact with the cpu. Everything is in order but the aio is not cooling my cpu properly. I see temps of 70 to 85 on idle and 95+ with games etc. The fans are fully functional and are spinning at rpms you would expect from the temps. The radiator is strangely cool for the temps and the air the fan is pushing is not very hot in comparison to the temps. The tubes of the aio are vibrating so i think they are working fine. The only hotness i feel is in the pump area of the aio. I suspect there might be something prohibiting the transfer of heat. Could it be an air bubble? If so how do I remove the air bubble? Are there any other reasons?

What is your aio?

How long have you had the cooler? If it is old could be a build up of gunk in the cooling fluid blocking the fine water channels on the cpu cooler plate preventing the flow of water.

My aio is an nzxt 120 series cooler. I thinks its a m22. Its not that old i would say about 1-2 years. If there is a buildup of gunk what can i do about it? How did it get built up in the first place?

What are the rest of your system specs?

What CPU are you running?

Motherboard?

Graphics card?

PSU?

Case / chassis?

If you are using a power-hungry CPU, (i.e. Intel i7 or i9, AMD Ryzen 7 or 9, etc) a 120mm AIO is not going to cut it.

Also, if the case has poor airflow, that will be a problem, too.
