Ram capacity issue

Hello everyone, I have strange issue with Ram capacity detection. I have 8 sticks of 16GB ram installed, but no matter what I can use only 64 GB out of 128. Bios shows 64 available even though it detects every 16 GB stick.

My system is:

X299X Aorus Master

I9 10900x

8 G.skill value ram sticks

Quadro P5000

And a lot of hard drives.

I tried every stick alone in every single channel, but it just doesn't go above 64 GB. Any ideas what to do?

Is the RAM you have on the mobo's QVL?

 

Have you tried booting into something like memtest to see if everything is visible there?

Yes it is. I will try memtest, haven't thought about that yet

Some g.skill modules won't work in 8 slots.

Did memtest86 and every ram stick is fine.

For real? I thought ram is ram and it doesn't matter as long as they are identical

In the qvl for your mobo, it lists the slot compatibility on the right, columns are labeled 2/4/6/8 with a mark in the column noting compatibility.

 

The qvl list are only what they know to work and it's not fully inclusive.
