@Jorgemeister thanks for your reply. My PSU is a Crosair HX850i but like you said I am hoping to offload this current setup and use it to recuperate some costs. Ideally I would be looking at a new build but unsure to build wit i7 or i9.

PSU can still be good then, but it would be harder to sell the old PC without it.

Id suggest going here and start with one of the base builds and move stuff around https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/, with that budget you could also get a VR set, I read X plane supports it?

I am not familiar with X plane, but their recommended settings should be taking into consideration.

Budget (including currency): £3000

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming - X plane11/12

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 4K at very high to max settings, max FPS

Good evening everyone, I have a question i would like to ask and please be mindful that i am new to all this. A couple of years back i purchased a second hand gaming pc to which i was told was a really good gaming spec. It has been an amazing computer to work with and i have recently taken up the flight sim world to which is my main focus. my current setup i will post below after i get my question out the way. My main focus is to achieve 4K gaming simulation on X plane 11/12 at very high settings. My question is can i upgrade my current pc to achieve this or will i need to get a high end i9 gaming pc if so can someone recommend a setup i can build....the max cost will be £3,000 ( including monitor(s))but cheaper would be better.

Thanks

With that budget and considering that updating this to a new processor would demand a new motherboard and for a new GPU you'd most likely need a new PSU (you didnt listed it) build a new one sounds more reasonable.

You could sell this oen and use that money for the monitor.
