Depends on what specific GPU, but generally Nvidia is better for editing. For recording AMD is better, H265 encoding on AMD is better than Nvenc on Nvidia. If you use H264 Nvenc would be better (assuming it's an RTX or 16 Super card). For gaming performance it really depends on what GPU.

 

Edit: here are some recordings I made using AMD and Nvidia GPU's (RTX 2060 and RX 5500 XT). They are recorded at 6000kbps. Nvenc is the Nvidia encoder, on AMD you have choice between H264 and H265 but H265 should be better. I think Nvidia might have a sligthly bigger performance hit from recording but I haven't tested FPS so can't confirm that. If you want I could record footage in higher bitrate like 10.000 or 15.000.
