my monitor is not working right on my labtop

 I have to ask you this I have a monitor and I plug it in my labtop and its says out of range when I put the monitor on 1680x1050 60hz it still shows out of range can i get some help here with this

You are probably using a vga cable, and you need to set desktop resolution in windows to match that of the monitor.

 

try some of the lower end ones and move up.
