I was considering powering a small Tesla Coil with a bunch of potato batteries. So, I wanted to know it from the science guys who I'm sure hang around here, how realistic of a goal would it be?

From my experience with Tesla coils it would be possible but you would need a lot of potatoes to power a very small one. It is possible but you'd probably spend more money on potatoes than any other part of the tesla coil.

I don't think the potato batteries would be powerful enough to power the tesla coil even if it is fairly small you can try it though

Edit: if you do try it make sure you use a lot of potatoes.

Well, potato batteries seem more fun to use in my opinion. Also, I was bored in science.

I guess I am too much of a conventionalist lol.

 

Also if you are considering a tesla coil, look into a van de graaff generator, I had a little too much fun with those when I was in school.
