System is the "TV gaming" one in my sig. I still need to update it as I moved case and added an Optane 900p, which is when the problem was noticed.

Potentially relevant stuff since it happened:

Case: Was Anidees Ai Crystal, now In Win 303

Added SSD: Optane 900p connected to chipset M.2 slot.

Everything else unchanged.

In the new case, the disk activity light is off pre-boot. It flickers as expected when Windows is loading. On the desktop, it is practically solid on. Early after booting it might flicker off occasionally. Interestingly, when in bios it is steady on.

To check I didn't get the LED connected backwards, I did swap it over, and it remained dim. So that wasn't it.

I observed task manager. There are occasionally low level operations to the system SSD, nothing happening on Optane. The low level activity is similar to other Win10 systems.

I tried updating the system storage drivers from the generic MS ones to Intel RST. Made no difference.

Everything else seems to work like normal.

The main change I guess is the adding of the Optane 900p. It isn't easy for me to remove it to check if that could be the cause. I can't see the case being a difference. Any other thoughts?
