choosing new cpu

So I cant decide which cpu to choose. Currently I have a ryzen 5 1600 on a b450 mobo. I bought it beceause I thought it would be good enough for games I will use it for, but it turned out to be to weak to play hunt showdown, ghostrunner etc. it was not enough even for valheim lol (yes I know I should have done better research). So know I have a chance to upgrade my cpu and I was thinking about buying r5 5500, but know r5 4500 was realeased and I dont want to make a similar mistake to one I have already done before. Which one would you recommend ? Maybe I should go intel ? I am not that experienced and I might have written something stupid, just saying. 

PS. price difference between those isn't large Its about 20 usd

Since you have a B450 just get the 5500, it's quite a bit better than the 4500 and Intel isn't worth it because you'll need to get a new board. I would also consider getting a 5600, much better performance for usually only a little more.

you are probably right with the 5600, but I think I will stick to 5500 just to save a bit
