Hey guys!

I'm in need of some help here!

OBS has been working fine for me from time to time but now it's not working at all, got myself a new PC for streaming and gaming, everything was fine first, no problems streaming but after a couple of days it stopped working with DOTA 2(It works with other games).

I get this black screen problem that I've heard other have and yes I can switch to windowed mode but then the only thing shown is the options menu, nothing else, even if I'm in a game doing other stuff, it's just stuck showing the options menu. I can even see the mouse movement.

I've read the FAQ and it doesn't help me at all. Infact Minecraft in Window Mode that according to the FAQ should have issues, actually works.

What could cause this problem and how do I fix it?

I also posted on the OBS Forum but since it's not as active as this Forum I thought I could give it a go here too.

Anyone else who needs help with OBS can also post here!

Have you tried to reinstall OSB and update your gpu driver?

And what Windows version do you use?

hove you tried other streaming softwares... Xsplit, perhaps?

In may opinion Xsplit is shit compared to OSB

I've done a clean reinstall(removed the OBS folder in the appdata folder)

The drivers are the latest unless there has been new ones since last tuesday. I use W7 Ultimate 64-bit.

OBS is way better than Xsplit, free too.

Hi Guys I'm new here and feel like a bit of a dunce when it comes to technology compared to most of the tech heads here. I'm looking to use OBS to stream though I have a relatively old computer here are my Spec from dxdiag

And here's my recent speed test result : http://www.speedtest.net/result/2710642168.png

I'm able to stream and fiddled about with the settings a bit and I seem to get good quality most of the time but sometimes I suffer from screen freezes on the stream not the game itself (I think). Any advice on what I can do to my computer to improve it's stream capabilities would be hugely appreciated! I'm looking to fiddle rather than upgrade hardware though when my next paycheck rolls in I might be able to buy some good value upgrades so any suggestions on what to upgrade would be awesome too!</p>

Thanks!

Edit: At the moment I have OBS on

Quality Balance: 1

Max Bitrate : 350

Audio Encoding Bitrate: 64

The Resolution I use is 1280 x 720 and I tend to play strategy games which are often fast paced as opposed to turn based games.

Any other details just post and I'll happily update

These were just from fiddling about and seeing what worked best
