Wireless audio receivers

Looking for a cheap wireless audio receiver for my wired headphones as i want to able to walk around the house while listening to something on my pc

Strange request, I'd also like to point out that nothing will have spectacular range. You'd need a DAC with wireless capabilities paired with something like a Fiio BTR3 ($130). SMSL B1 is the cheapest wireless DAC by a reputable brand I can think of, even so it's limited to Bluetooth 4.2 at around $80. Bluetooth amps like the BTR3 are more meant to connect to a phone in your pocket as you walk around, and act as a dedicated solution for that. Unless you live on an open floor plan, there's going to be a lot of signal degradation very quickly or even full blackout. That'd cover a range of maybe 10 meters if you're lucky, Bluetooth 4.2 isn't spectacularly capable. If you stepped up to Bluetooth 5.0 you'd get better range, but those DACs are more expensive. Something like the Fiio BTA30/Pro would suffice in that instance at $130. All-in you're looking at $210-260, so not a cheap solution by any means.

 

Actually, now that I'm thinking about it... I don't know how you would even be able to connect the two. Normally a phone or a standalone bluetooth headphone is involved somewhere in the mix for the pairing process. This is pain for my mind.

 

Maybe just get a BTR3 and hope your motherboard supports Bluetooth. I don't know how else one would connect, and if it has to rely on maintaining a connection directly from your motherboard it's not going to reach very far I don't think. That's why my mind was thinking of wireless DACs/transmitters with antennas (above, crossed out).
