Steam - I need some help

So a few months ago I got Skyrim for 10 bucks and now I want to buy the DLC. The current pricing is as follows:

DLC 1: 5

DLC 2: 20

DLC 3: 20

DLC 1+2+3: 45

Skyrim (game + no DLC): 30 (currently owned)

Skyrim Legendary (game + all DLC): 40

Obviously, buying the legendary edition would be the cheapest way to get all DLCs, however that would leave me with two copies of the game itself. I'm wondering if I could purchase this as a gift and then apply the DLC codes on my own account, and the game's code on a friend's account. But that would only work if the codes are separated, which I doubt they are.

I would just wait for a sale. I mean the DLCs really arent that great for the price. However strictly for modding purposes I would buy Dawnguard because some sweet mods require this DLC

I don't know what happened, but I somehow got Dawnguard for free. I installed the HD textures mod and didn't like it so when I went to uncheck it in the mod manager thingy, Dawnguard was there so I checked it and it installed. No idea how I got it, but it was good.

they are not separate, the legendary is bundled as one game, so you will have to just buy all the dlc
