M.2 SSD Heatsink

Master PC

My Crosshair VIII Hero X570 has a built-in heatsink, and I got a 2TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus.

Should I stick to the motherboard’s SSD heatsink, or I’m better off buying another heatsink for better cooling performance?

that ssd shouldn't be hitting any temps that even require a heatsink on it which is why it doesn't have one.

Samsung drives have a software tool called samsung magician which can show you temps and do a performance check so I would use the motherboard's heatsink and run the performance check while watching the temps in the software. It should be absolutely fine with just the motherboard's heatsink

The best gaming PC is the PC you like to game on, how you like to game on it
