My father has had this windows 8 touch screen laptop for a while. However he uses both the touch screen and the mouse on the laptop (the pad thingy)

But for some reason all of a sudden, the cursor is not displaying anymore when he wants to use the mouse pad. I have no idea why it's happened for I don't use the laptop and have no idea what he may have done or changed. Any ideas? It's really bothering him as he uses his Laptop a lot and he does quite using the mouse pad. Thanks in advanced guys! Also I haven't used windows 8 before, so if you do have the solution please make it clear enough for a Windows 8 noob to understand! xD Thanks again! <3333 Happy easter :)

There is no need to bump

as for your OP, try to clean the touch screen first and see if that helps. best to turn off screen the device and clean with a microfiber cloth and a single drop of water should do the trick.

if not, attempt to figure out when this issues first started to occur, if it is pretty recent use a system restore point.  To access restore points, shift + restart, will get to the advanced boot options allowing you to do the restore point, select the restore point that is the closest to the time the issue started to occur.
