$500 AUD

Australia

Mostly just word documents and chrome. It Is a new build. Do not need a nice "Gaming" case.

Seems very hard in AUD to build a decent $500 build.

The closest I could get while still getting some decent quality, i3 quad core with 16GB of RAM and 500 GB SSD.

If it was me I would go to a Mini ITX machine for a desktop build like this, but sadly Mini ITX boards and cases tend to be a bit more expensive, so that falls outside your budget slightly.

An option.

If you're looking for a desktop build, does the budget also need to include peripherals like monitor, mouse and keyboard?

Do you have an existing system that you can upgrade or scavenge parts from?
