Bought a cheap printer a while back HP 3762 all in one job.

It was connected wirelessly and worked as expected. Then went to print one day and it wouldn't work. After resinatlling drivers etc I went and  bought a USB cable and the same issue remained. Reinstalled drivers etc again and still nothing.

Turns out that if I send the file to print, then go out, run a marathon and come back its normally printed, slight exaggeration but I am only sending really small files to it via a direct USB connection and its taking an eternity to print. Several minutes at least.

Any ideas what the problem might be? Ideally I want it wireless again but feel that will make it even slower then it is. Wasn't an expensive device as I only do some light printing but I didn't expect it to take so long to print a single page, especially via USB.

Can anyone suggest what might be wrong?

I'm using Windows 10. Surely there must be an easier option than booting to different operating systems.

Ist not the end of the world. Just annoying when I need something printed quickly. Also trying to get it enrolled onto instant ink along with my other HP printer and thats proving troublesome also.

Was a real cheap printer but was brand new and have never known a printer to respond so slowly. I would understand if I was sending massive documents over a rubbish wireless signal but thats not the case.

I meant just for a test. You don't need to install Linux, you can boot and run it from a USB memory stick. This could verify the USB cable / printer does indeed print at a normal speed if it works correctly in Linux. Just a troubleshooting step, just a way to eliminate things. Takes Windows possibly doing something dumb out of the equation.
