Im having a troublesome issue with my GPU when running games in dx12 i get OK fps but what's most important is that the usage is where it should be 99%/98% however when i run the same game in dx11 performance drops to the ground and gpu usage hangs anywhere from 20% / 60%

 

another example is in Crowz where i can be sitting pretty at 101 fps 98 gpu usage then bang 70% usage and a stutter then things go back to somewhat normal again, gpu temps running between 60 / 75 degrees so i dont think its heat related has anyone got any ideas please specs are below ive also attached a screenshot of the amd software stress tests which shows gpu power, core clock and memory clock drops ive re-ran this a few times and this same drop occurs on all of them at different times, windows 11 has been re-installed and I have already used DDU to re-install the drivers

 

CPU: Amd Ryzen 3600XT

RAM: Corsair 2x8gb 3200 in dual channel with xmp1

SSD: WD 1tb NVME

GPU: PowerColor RX 5600XT 6gb

Windows 11 x64

PSU: Aerocool Integrator MX 600W 80 PLUS Silver

Pretty sure that is expected behaviour of DX12 vs DX11. DX12, moves more of the computing to the GPU and DX11 your CPU will do more of the lifting than it would in DX12. As for your stutter, that can be any number of things. How often does it happen?

this is now always happening, for example fortnite I can be playing in dx11 with 40fps at about 60% gpu usage while in  dx12 it runs closer to 100 I have checked CPU usage at both times and i dont believe this to be a bottle neck as the CPU is not hitting usage either, this also happens in battlefield v the exact same scenario however there are countless videos of the same spec GPU and CPU comparing the fps and stability which do not show the issue im experiencing, I suspect it could be a windows 11 issue although im not 100% sure if its a gpu fault based on the attached stress test.
