100% memory usage

so recently i left my pc on during the weekend, for about 85 hours to be more exact. i was not home during this time and used it for remote access purposes. when i came back, the memory usage was at 100 percent and i was not running any intensive programs. the program that used up the most ram was discord with 200mb. why is this happening? and is there a way to avoid this for next time i leave my pc on for an extensive amount of time?

Open Task Manager and check what program is using all the memory. This is most likely an issue with one of your applications. Memory leaks are not uncommon, but they certainly don't occur at a level where they make the system consume 100% of it's memory(you have 16GB of memory which shouldn't be easy to fill up with a minor memory leak). At least as far as I know.

Well, check what application was using the memory, and don't run it the next time, or at least until the developers fix it.

Well, check what application was using the memory, and don't run it the next time, or at least until the developers fix it.

the application was discord with 200 megabytes usage...

You should try to reproduce the issue, or come back when it is occurring again. Right now we don't have enough information to solve this.
