which graphics card to get

Go to solution Solved by nixproducer,

Yep, my bad. It's r9 270 and the X version is a oc-ed 270, which means that the x version has higher oc limits than the normal one

So the first on the list would be the 7870 ghz, the second the 660, and the third the 270?

i guess but if he wants Nvidia go 660 if he wants AMD or if he doesn't care go for the 7870 GHz

My friend is looking for a new gpu and these are his options

R7 265

R7 270

Hd 7870 Ghz

Gtx 750 ti

Gtx 660

Gtx 650 ti boost

All of them cost about the same so which one should he get.

P.S. : I was thinking that the 270 would be his best choice but what do you guys say? :)

So, the 7870 (ghz ed) is faster than a normal msi r7 270?

Remember that it's a ghz ed, not a xt card :)

Yes. The 270x is a rebadge 7870 GHZ. The 270 is a 7850. The 7870 is the best choice in terms of performance.

Where does he live that a gtx 750 ti is the same price as a 7870 ghz edition?

It's about the same price

The most expensive 750ti is a few dollars less than the cheapest 7870

And yeah, he lives 20 minutes from me :P

7870 would be my choice (as it's generally better, though the 660 may outperform it in some select titles), 660 is a relatively close second.

what the hell you guys a 270 and 270x are BOTH 7870's both of which are higher clocked so why the hell would you get a 7870 over that?

Acctually not

A 7870 ghz ed is higher clocked than a r9 270 which in my case cost the same amount of money, so for me the best option is the 7870 ghz

They're both 7870s in the same way that the 7850 was a slightly gimped 7870. A 270x MIGHT have been better, but that wasn't really an option, and it'd be pretty much margin of error once they were both overclocked. If you're choosing between a 270x and a 7870, and they both look good and have nice coolers, get the cheaper one because they're the same.
