I have an ASUS b450m TUF gaming plus II, which has a USB C 3.2 gen 1 (iirc) built in to the IO. Is there a way to alter the power output of the port, or at least test what it’s output is? When I have my Quest 2 plugged in to that port, it says it’s charging but doesn’t seem to be charging at all, even though I believe l USB C should have a 3A output. I know it’s not the headset or cables, because plugged into a wall charger it charges within 2.5 hours.

Cheers

Generally USB can support up to 3.0-3.1A, but if the cable cannot allow the port's full amperage to flow, it's irrelevant. Cables more often than not are the limiting factor. That being said, not all USB data ports support higher amperage anyway.

Simple pin out diagram for USB port and a volt meter set for 12VDC should be all you need.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking tbh, however I sat doing some more digging as it’s 06:30 am currently, and it looks like there may have been a firmware update that disabled it unless data access to the headset is denied. Time to test it before throwing in the towel and attempting a nap 😅
