Docking station keeps disconnecting

My docking station has been disconnecting entirely every 10-15 minutes, sometimes it's 25 minutes before the next disconnect occurs. My two displays go black, my speakers go boom and afterwards I hear a lot of "device connected" sounds, not just two which would be the displays. afterwards, every window that was on one of my monitors is on the display of the laptop. Should I try plugging the docking station into the other Thunderbolt port? It's the same laptop that had the audio issue I posted about a couple days ago
