Howdy folks,

So my GT 430 in my garage Sandy Bridge system is on it's last legs as driver support is gone and I've been nursing it along with an Arctic passive cooler and 90mm fans hardwired on now for years.  Unfortunately, there's no iGPU on the P67 board I'm running.  I think it's time to get something else in there and my old GTX 260 Core 216 is not the man for the job on an 450W SFX power supply.  The system just opens webpages for reference materials and streams YouTube so might even be overkill.

In the pre-GPU panic I'd just have grabbed a GTX 750Ti but that's starting to get both long in the tooth and they're running around $65-80 which I guess isn't bad.  Is there something else I should be looking for instead?

If you do any work in your garage that creates a lot of dust (sanding, sawing, etc.) I'd recommend just getting a passive GT 1030 since they're perfectly suited for that kind of light usage. The 750Ti is still perfectly fine for basic tasks like that too. I still use mine for gaming on my own P67 system with a 2500K (largely because the half-assed modern "games" that would bring the system to its knees are still buggy to the point of unplayability)

EDIT: Just don't get the DDR4 GT 1030. I'm pretty sure it has half the performance of the GDDR5 version or something like that.

Highly knowledgeable in all the obscure 2000s hardware & software you'll never need to ask about
