Audio interface crashes games

So I have this problem where my audio interface causes some games to crash or just not work and it's mostly older games from 2015 and lower I'm not joking when I say my audio interface crashes the games it's the U-PHORIA UMC204HD. I want to know why it's doing this and if there is a way to fix this without having to go buy a new interface as I'm confused on why it causes games to crash in the first place it just doesn't make sense to me at all

that interface is bus powered.

a few possibilities, as i see it. 1 is that your power supply is running full tilt when you're gaming normally. gaming is a pretty heavy power draw, and by attaching a bus powered interface to your computer, you could be just completely over drawing the system. normally this would cause your computer to either totally shut off or blue screen, but i don't think i'd be too surprised if it just causes your game to crash

2, whatever usb port you’re plugging your interface into can't sustain the power draw of the interface, which could potentially get worse if you're using a condenser mic or some other mic that needs phantom power. this also would normally cause your computer to blue screen or just shut off, though.

3, the driver for the interfaces is causing some kind of problem with your games. this is kinda unlikely, but it's the most likely option to make your games crash instead of your entire computer, and to be fair, it's a driver written by behringer so i really wouldn't be surprised if there were some issues lol.

solutions could be: update your driver, upgrade your power supply (if that's really the issue, then you should upgrade it anyway, you could damage your parts otherwise), or try a new usb port (maybe one directly on the motherboard if it's not already there). if you're using a usb hub, don't. audio gear does not play nicely most of the time with usb hubs, but it doesn't normally cause issues like this.
