Hey guys my current PC is running Ryzen 5 3600 paired with GTX 1060 6gb and 16gb RAM. Will it handle 4k editing smoothly or do I need any upgrades? Thanks.

Honestly in this market? as long as you keep CUDA on itll be fine running it. Id say get 32GB kit but honestly 16 should be fine for basic editing with no GPU intensive filter activated until render like Lumetri.

What is your storage like? a NVMe SSD for your project files is really important too. Maybe look at getting a Samsung 860 2TB for your active project files/scratch disk.

I have 256gb m.2 ssd and 2tb hdd. It's a pc from 3 years ago, and right now I'm thinking to switch to gaming laptop as my "desktop pc" because it's portability. I'm thinking either legion 5/5 pro or rog strix G15/17. What do you think?
