KVM Issue

So, here's my issue,
I have two computers: one desktop running windows and one laptop running Linux mint(cinnamon). I use Barrier to switch between both computers, as a cheap solution to have dual monitors. I just recently switch the laptop to Linux mint and ever since have had nothing but problems. You have to understand something about my setup first, I use WIFI to connect to the internet but i use ethernet through a separate local router for Barrier as it makes for a smoother experience. For some reason every time I try to use both the WIFI and ethernet it only uses one at a time, usually whatever was connected first. For example, my barrier program works and i have no connection to the internet or barrier doesn't work and I have a connection to the ethernet. I no stranger to mint I have had xcfe for a year or so now, but I am out of ideas and time. I also posted this to the Linux mint forums, but I thought I would also try here.
