I got a cheap system 2nd hand from an ewaste 2 years ago. I just got some money so i want to upgrade it. Where do I start?

I have 

i7 - 4700

rando mother board

rx 550 gpu

650 watts power supply

4 x 4gb ram

I find this more than enough for now.

It's better to save up for a new system unless there is a particular issue with the existing system.

 

If you have to spend on the system consider things like a large SSD (1TB) or a new monitor.

what monitor would my system be able to handle in terms of resolution and hertz?

In what game?

 

In anything modern AAA or demanding, 1080p or less, 60fps tops, graphical settings minimum. 

 

Are you sure the GPU isn't an Nvidia GTX 550 ti? Because that would be way worse.

Its an asus rx 550 4gb

Im more of an indie gamer or roguelike. Hades , hollow knight, dark souls 3, league, valorant, etc.

 

Would it help if I just got a new graphics card?

RX 550 is basically at the minimum spec for Dark Souls 3.

yes sir

it was the era of graphics card shortages so i took what i got. The prices are better now. Much closer to msrp. Im looking at getting a 3060 12gb
