gpu upgrading question

Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

First and foremost, are you getting the performance you would like out of your computer? If yes, then nothing, no matter how fast it is, is actually worth it because it would still be meeting your expectations for performance. If the answer is no, how is it not meeting your expectations? It could be a weak CPU, not enough RAM, you might god forbid still be using a HDD as your boot drive, etc. If it is your GPU that is your limiting factor, or you're like me and just think faster hardware is cool, then read on.

Assuming you have a good enough CPU that will not limit the performance of any of these GPUs (basically not a 4th quad core i5 or older)

2060 to 3060, not worth it, it's maybe 10-20% faster most of the time, and if you put a decent overclock on the 2060 the gap is likely to reduce even further. It'll be noticeable, but not very noticeable. Unless you're getting a 3060 for about the same cost of your 2060, it's not really worth the effort.

2060 to 3060 Ti, that's a different story. That card is between about 25-50% faster depending on the game, a pretty noticeable jump in most scenarios. Assuming you aren't spending an arm and a leg on one, they are an incredibly good card, and about as much as you really need for 1080p ultra settings or even 1440P high settings 144Hz.
